The East End of Long Island has a plethora of eating establishments
covering the entire spectrum of the dining experience. Availability
of the freshest seafood and local produce from neighboring farms
has been instrumental in attracting world-renowned chefs to both Long
Island Wine Country and The Hamptons. Sophisticated diners from New
York City and the metropolitan area demand the best, and they find
it: elegant gourmet dining, sophisticated and trendy menus, casual
raw bars, and ethnic foods from around the world. The restaurants
included in this listing have been selected for their consistently
high reputations and are arranged alphabetically within their
respective areas. The list does not include extremely casual
restaurants, bistros, or take-outs. Visitors can discover these
while they explore the fabulous East End. Restaurants that appear
in blue are listed on

Alison Restaurant
95 School Street
Bridgehampton, NY 11932
(631) 537-7100
www.AlisonRestaurant.com
All the accolades earned for this restaurant's design, food, and service apply
thrice fold to its perfection for a Rehearsal Dinner: simple and stunning,
imaginative and impeccable, young and caring. Alison's intuitive sensibility
to the comfort of her clientele is evident also in the design of the room set
aside for private dinners. It's airy, chic, and amenable to a myriad of table
arrangements accommodating a head table, intimate settings, or large family.
Located in the center of the Hamptons, it is equidistant from Montauk to
Southampton. Chef Robert Gurvich, known for his luscious flavorful food
creates individual menus for each event so the menus are unique to the
occasion. Alison defines the trend for intimacy and imagination and is the
absolutely perfect location for that most important dinner of all. Visit it
for dinner or cocktails and then put its phone number in your planner. Whether
for on premise or off premise catering, you'll need it! |
The Laundry
Restaurant & Bar
341 Pantigo Road (Rte 27)
East Hampton, NY 11937
(631) 324-3199
www.thelaundry.com
The East End is breathing a sigh of relief. The Laundry is not gone; it has just moved to a fabulous new location providing the perfect ambience and attitude for true East End dining. The menu changes frequently to accommodate the seasons for the freshest fruits, produce and fish available. Always on the menu are items such as chicken from Iacono Farm, vegetables from Satur and Sang Lee Farms, and entrees cooked to perfection in a huge wood stove. (Owner Andrew Engle confided that he loves to use cherry wood for the delicate flavor it imparts.) Long time clients will be delighted by the bright and open décor and new visitors will be entranced. This new location can accommodate small private dinners, has an outdoor patio area from which to view the lawns, and is just the spot for a romantic dinner for two or a night out with friends. This is the Hamptons as it once was when style did not mean stuffy and fresh food was not a trend but adherence to good taste. |
Le Chef
75 Jobs Lane
Southampton, NY
283-8581
www.LeChefBistro.com
When you're on Southampton's famous Jobs Lane, you are close to a bit of heaven at
Le Chef. Relaxing, fun, and extremely popular, Le Chef serves up true Hampton
fare with a clear understanding of its clients/ taste buds. The menu will
surely tempt you to over indulge, but the wiser course of action is to visit
in the day for lunch and then later in the evening for
a romantic dinner. East End Experience VIP Benefit Click here! |
Porto Bello Restaurant
9095 Sound Avenue
Mattituck, NY
(631) 298-5577
www.portobello-ny.com
A family owned restaurant, Porto Bello serves up the most delicious dinners
in a truly beautiful setting. Located on the L.I. Wine trail, it has a
great selection of local wines to sip with its decidedly Italian fare. If
you prefer seafood, chops, or steaks, you are also in luck. In season,
there is an outdoor bar and on weekends there is music. The wineries
generally close by 6:00 PM, so this is a perfect place to end your wine
tour day. Once people discover this restaurant, they become loyal
customers. Fans will follow it anywhere! Whether you choose to have lunch
or dinner, you can relax in an airy open beamed dining room or a
charmingly cozy solarium. Porto Bello is a find to be treasured
and shared! East End Experience VIP Benefit Click here! |
The Red Door
Main Road
Mattituck, NY 11952
(631) 298-4800
www.reddoorrestaurant.com
Chef Stephan Mazzella is brilliant. Whether you are a gourmet, or prefer
simpler fare, you are in for a great experience at this favorite North Fork
restaurant. Located only abut 15 minutes from Southampton, it's the perfect
way for Hampton visitors to enjoy the LI Wine Country The décor is simple
and uncluttered, and relies on the crisp white of the tablecloths and
the myriad of tiny white lights to set the tone. True gourmets will swoon
and those who enjoy plainer fare will be equally delighted. I highly
recommend this restaurant for rehearsal dinners and small weddings. Off
premise catering is also available. What better way to assess the food for
your special event than by enjoying a meal at this lovely and
special establishment? East End Experience VIP Benefit Click here! |
Southampton Publick House
40 Bowden Square
Sourthampton, NY 11968
(631) 283-2800
www.publick.com
Southampton Publick House is the first micro brewery/restaurant on the East End of Long Island but its sole claim to that title isn't the reason it is so beloved and so frequented by diners and beer lovers. If you are visiting the East End it is a must visit and if you are planning a corporate outing, it is a must book! Brew master Phil Markowski has produced award winning beers and ales that have gained national recognition and are now available throughout Long Island and New York City. The restaurant is a friendly spot with a great menu of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and low carb choices and is popular for families, tourists, business lunches, private parties, and ladies. Of course, the bar is a great for some brew on either a hot summer day or a cold winter night. The stainless steel vats are visible through the plate glass windows so that you can see how the beer is made. There's a great outdoor patio and the prime location on Bowden Square allows for easy parking, easy access from Route 27, and easy walking from the village. The Southampton Publick House has universal appeal and I recommend it highly. East End Experience VIP Benefit Click here! |
Trumpets on the Bay
58 South Bay Avenue
Eastport, NY
(631) 325-2900
www.trumpetsonthebay.com
There is no more romantic spot on the East End. Intimate and charming with magnificent views of the bay, Trumpets on the Bay defines fine dining. The continental menu affords choices for every taste, but certainly sea food lovers will be enthralled. Chef's specials are creative and enticing and Long Island favorites like duckling are perfectly prepared. Indeed, this restaurant is gorgeous in the warm weather, but even in winter the fireplace makes for a cozy ambience. Lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch are wonderful all year round. The only disappointment you might experience is your inability to get a table, so be sure to call for reservations. The word is out and you will not want to miss the experience of dining at Trumpets on the Bay. This restaurant is within easy driving distance from the Hamptons or North Fork Wine Country.

The
Hamptons
The Hamptons is a broad
term used to describe a geographic
area from the towns of Westhampton
to Montauk Point. Like its twin,
The North Fork, it is comprised
of many small hamlets. This
list is arranged alphabetically
according to areas: Westhampton,
Southampton, and East Hampton.
Westhampton
Area: Known for its
fabulous beaches on both the
Atlantic Ocean and the bays,
this “Hampton” is
equidistant from the heart of
the Hamptons and the heart of
Long Island Wine Country. It
has all the panache that has
made the Hamptons famous and
all the hospitality that has
made the North Fork famous.

Southampton:
Arguably
the most famous of “The
Hamptons,” Southampton
shares with Southold, its sister
on the North Fork, the joint
claim of being the first English
speaking settlement. Who is
the true owner of this honor
remains a subject for the historians,
but certainly, Southampton has
a very rich history. (Yes, every
pun intended!). Home to the
famous Meadow Club, this township
is also famous for its hedges,
its beaches, its shopping, and
its residents. Included in the
